TIME TO BE - PARENT

with Marija Beslac

#TimeToBe⁣ a parent No wonder we call it “new normal” - trying to help ourselves stay normal. We have to rethink everything we do. Parenting (especially) included! ⁣ Marija Beslać (Internal Comms Lead), shared with us some of her daily routines. Read the description of each #FunFact and then take a look at the picture. 📸⁣ 👉 #FunFact 1: As many other parents, I’m wearing so many hats every single day: parent, partner, school teacher, kindergarten educator, employee/team lead, caregiver, chef, physiatrist… even a doctor from time to time. Managerial and communication skills are put to the test daily. Not to mention mental health.⁣ 👉 #FunFact 2: Creating daily routines that help us stay healthy and spend quality time together can make all the difference. For us, this was walking in nature, nearby forest or a lake, playing all kinds of games or dancing to some great music.⁣ 👉 #FunFact 3: It became apparent that it’s not about remote work as we knew it, but a whole new way of looking at collaboration, teamwork, performance and work-life balance. Being a part of a strong team, packed with amazing humans who truly empathize and conquer together, makes the everyday worth of effort.

TIME TO BE - GROWING

#TimeToBe growing 🌱

Ivana Paunović (Workplace Experience Manager) shared with us her thoughts! 🙌

TIME TO BE - REFLECTIVE

... and making completely another approach to design.

#TimeToBe Self-Reflective Monika Walecka - Product Marketing Manager shared with us her thoughts. 🇵🇹 “Someone once said we are creatures of habit. We naturally fall into customs and manners that time, places, and circumstances engrave within us. But what happens when all of what we know and we are used to gets disrupted? What if our “normal” suffers an abrupt change? We call it a “new normal”. I strongly believe that we are resilient. We can learn to thrive if only we have the right mindset. In my definition that mindset is not to fight the reality, we are facing. Not to waste all our energy on longing for the old, but to adapt and make the best of the new. 💪 That’s what I did! Before the “new normal” started, I welcomed a lot of chaos into my life. My objective was to kill the boredom, to produce that dopamine, and feel like I haven’t wasted the day. Suddenly everything changes, all of what I know and love is endangered. I am forced to stop, stand still and be with myself. It took me a while, I was not prepared. But I quickly understood that I now have to stop being preoccupied with what was happening around me. I needed to pay attention to what was going on within me. 🙌 And so my process of self-reflection begun.”

TIME TO BE -CELEBRATING

#TimeToBe Celebrating 🎉🍾 Milan Jovović - Chief Creative Officer shared with us his thoughts about Top Eleven and Nordeus. ⚽ @TopEleven is turning 11 in May, and it has been a long and exciting journey for us to get Nordeus and the game to the heights that it has achieved. Running a successful mobile game for 11 years is something that not many people can say they have done, so it’s time for us to celebrate. Myself, Branko, and Ivan left Belgrade and settled into corporate life abroad. But it wasn’t for us. We wanted to live our passion of making games. We had big aspirations to make a successful mobile game, give back to our community, and show people that you can make a big success here in Serbia. 💪 So we came home, set up in a garage, working long days and late nights to build Nordeus and TE. We brought in help from people we knew and trusted and were profitable 3 weeks after the launch. ⚽👨‍💻 11 years on, and we are now a team of 170 strong, with 20 nationalities, based here in Belgrade. 🌎 Today in Serbia, there is a movement to ensure we are building communities that support one another, and this is testament to the culture within the country, but also within Nordeus. That is our story, and it can be replicated by you. ❤️ There are so many opportunities for current, and younger generations to thrive here in Serbia, so just go for it, and hopefully, in 11 years’ time, we will be celebrating with you. Živeli!🥂”
